Obituary of Philip Lester Libby

Philip Lester Libby, a resident of the Rowayton section of Norwalk since 1988, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2005 in Rowayton. Born March 7, 1959 in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of Alice Marie Libby of Ashfield, MA and the late Merton Libby. He was 46. Philip attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. After spending 15 years in the telecommunications field, he developed his own on-line auction service called ConnecticutYankeeAntiques.com. He was an excellent all-around athlete who played high school and college football and more recently enjoyed golf. Philip is survived by his wife, Regina Mary Libby and one son, Philip Anthony Libby both of Rowayton. He is also survived by one brother, Peter J. Libby of Atlanta, GA and two sisters, Polly A. Estes of Haydenville, MA and Pamela J. “Pammy” Libby of Newton, MA. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, December 8, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 471 Mansfield Avenue, Darien on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Rowayton Union Cemetery in Rowayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for the establishment of a college scholarship trust fund for his son, Philip.
