I became Babe's neighbor and friend when we were 7 years old. Together we played, attended Baker Elementary and Darien Junior High, became Girl Scouts and spent most of our summers at Pear Tree Point Beach. Then when we were 14 I sadly moved to Florida but our friendship continued through all these 70 years. She knew how much I missed Darien and saw to it that I got a Darien High School 1955 annual. I remember so well how much she loved Frank Sinatra and I never will hear a record of his that I don't think of her. Through the years we only got to see one another when one of us was visiting the other's state, but we always kept the correspondence going. To her family I can only say how sorry I am for your loss. You will always have her with you through your memories of how she enriched your lives. She sure enriched my life. The tribute to her is so well deserved. I'm so proud that she was my friend.
