Obituary of Paula Jane Epprecht

Paula Jane Epprecht, mother of John Epprecht of Fairfield and David Epprecht of Rowayton, passed away on Friday, January 6. She was 90 years old. Paula was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Brooklyn and Greenwich, Connecticut. She married John (Jack) Epprecht, Jr. and settled in Long Island in the 1940's, working at Sperry Gyroscope while her husband began a long career at Springs Industries. The couple gave birth to their first child, John, in 1951 and moved to Darien, Connecticut several years later. David was born in 1959. Both boys graduated from Darien High School. Paula was active in the Darien Community Association and the Garden Club of Darien. She was a dog lover, and always had the company of one or two canine companions. She traveled widely with her husband on business. She and Jack retired to the Carolina's in 1987. Paula returned to Connecticut as a widow, moving to Monroe in 1998. Paula is survived by sons John and David Epprecht, their spouses, Chris Epprecht and Margo Epprecht, five grandchildren: Josh, Aaron and Seth Freeman, Liza and Andrew Epprecht, and four great-grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien will be 4:00-6:00pm Friday, January 13. Friends of the family are welcome to attend a Memorial Service in honor of Paula.
