Obituary of Vera Pleasic Asher

Vera Pleasic Asher, a Trumbull resident since 1982 and a former resident of Darien for over 65 years, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2006 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport. Born May 28, 1914 and raised in Darien, she was the daughter of the late Michael Pleasic and Helen Oras Pleasic. She was 91. Mrs. Asher was a graduate of Darien High School class of 1932. She worked as a bookkeeper at Pitney Bowes and Grade Teacher Publishing. She also volunteered at St. Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull. She is survived by two brothers, Ambrose Pleasic and Vincent Pleasic both of Darien. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Clement G. Asher in 1987 and 13 brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends and family at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Thursday, January 5, 2006 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
