Sara (Sally) M. Cross, a long time resident of Rowayton, CT, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2006 at Edgehill Health Center in Stamford, CT. Born April 27, 1929 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Donald Knight Mirrielees and Jeanette Holloway Mirrielees. She was 76. Mrs. Cross graduated from Stephens College of Colombia, Missouri in 1949. Moving to Rowayton in 1960, she enjoyed many years of being at the beach, and on it’s waterfront. A longtime sailor, she cruised extensively along the New England coast with her husband and family. She was an active member of the annual Christmas Pageant in Rowayton, the Darien Players Association and United Church of Rowayton. She was also active in the Blue Notes, a local ladies choir. Sally was passionate about the theater and live music. Always on the sunny side of the street, she was a wonderful, loving and supportive Mom and Grandmother and will be dearly missed. Sally is survived by a son, Christopher M. Cross of Fairfield, CT and a daughter, Tracy Leet of Scituate, MA. She is also survived by five grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, William B. Cross, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held at the United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Avenue, Rowayton, CT on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Avenue, Rowayton, CT 06853.
