Lucille Staniszewski Obituary

Lucille Staniszewski, a long time resident of Norwalk, CT, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Westport Health Care Center. Born September 21, 1914 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Stiels and Estelle (VonSchonborn) Northrup. She was 91.


Mrs. Staniszewski was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in South Norwalk. She was a member of the Holy Name Rosary Society and was a kindergarten teacher at Holy Name of Jesus School. She worked for Rowayton Market which was owned by her family at one time. She was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Rowayton Fire Department.


She is survived by her two sons, Richard and his wife Barbara Staniszewski of Rowayton, CT and Henry and his wife Lynn Staniszewski, Jr. of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Leslie A. Staniszewski of Rowayton, CT; Heidi Sherman of Milford, CT; Christopher Staniszewski of Pullman, WA; Stacey Troxell of Tampa, FL and three great grandchildren, Joshua Staniszewski of Tampa, FL and Tori and Jacob Staniszewski of Pullman, WA. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry Staniszewski in 1980 and by one son, Peter in 1981.


The family will receive relatives and friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Friday, February 3, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 85 South Main Street, South Norwalk on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien.
