Obituary of Geraldine A. Tomczyk

Geraldine "Gerry" Tomczyk passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 18th, 2015. Gerry was born to the late Arthur and Gretchen (Seidel) Betz on July 8th, 1937 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stamford, CT. Gerry graduated Stamford High School with the class of 1955, later marrying her high school sweet heart, Anthony "Tony" Tomczyk on January 7th, 1956. The two recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Gerry was a devoted employee of almost 25 years at F.W. Woolworth Co. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending her time with her family. Early on, Gerry enjoyed traveling up and down the East Coast, making many memories along the way with family and friends. Geraldine will be loved and missed by all. Besides her husband, Gerry is survived by her daughter Gail Meissner and husband Robert of Fairfield, CT; two sons, Robert Tomczyk and Anthony Tomczyk, Jr., both of Stamford; six grandchildren, Michelle, Danielle, Justin, Jason, Kelsey and William all of Stamford. Gerry is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-laws, Patricia and Frank Partlow of Stamford; Linda and Harry Notarnicola of Milford, CT; Lois Tomczyk of Stamford; and Robert Trefry also of Stamford. Gerry also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Gerry is predeceased by her son, Thomas Tomczyk and daughter-in-law, Laura Tomczyk; her brother-in-law, Edward Tomczyk and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Trefry Tomczyk; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Stella Usowski Tomczyk. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 23rd, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Maurice Parish, 383 Glenbrook Road, Stamford. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rock Rimmon Road, Stamford.
