Obituary of Elizabeth W. Gluck

Elizabeth W Gluck, a resident of Wilton, CT and longtime Darien resident passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012 with her family at her side. Born on February 13, 1922 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna White. She was 89. Elizabeth (Betty) was a graduate of Teaneck, NJ High School and Ohio State University. After college she became a successful professional editor in New York City for well known magazines such as Glamour, Patient Care, and Yachting. She enjoyed helping others through these organizations, Darien Chapter of the American Red Cross, Person-to-Person, Meal on Wheels and Darien Thrift Shop. Later in life, she married Charles W. Gluck in Darien, who predeceased her, and had two children, Anne Orvis and her husband Jamie of Fairfield and William Gluck and his wife Hermione of Weston. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan, Allison, Hannah, Amanda and Caroline. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Darien, 14 Brookside Road, Darien on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
