Martha Pantel, a life long resident of Stamford, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2006 at Courtland Gardens Health Care Center. Born November 10, 1918 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Olga (Fitz) Pantel. She was 87 Miss Pantel graduated from Stamford High School in 1936 and was a graduate of the Short Secretarial School in Stamford. She worked for over 55 years as a payroll supervisor for Bartlett Tree. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, a long time member of AARP and active with their Membership Committee. She was also a member of the Darien Senior Center. She is survived by her sister, Bertha Scott of Stamford and one cousin, Judy Buchs of Niantic, CT. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Friday, February 10, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Seaside Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 10:00 AM with Rev. J. P. Breznan officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, 2550 U.S. Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
