Obituary of Rita Frances Jenkins

Rita Frances Jenkins, a resident of Darien since 1973, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Stamford Hospital. Born on August 24, 1933 in Ashtabula, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Loretta Moats Recker. She was 78. Rita graduated from Kent State University and was a parishioner of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Darien. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Jenkins of Darien; a daughter, Ann Katherine Laczko of Darien and a son, Arthur Recker Jenkins of Franklin Park, NJ; and three grandchildren, James Jenkins, Amanda Laczko and April Laczko. She is also survived by a sister, Janette Chumney of Conroe, TX. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ford. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1864 Post Road, Darien on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel. Interment will be at St. Luke's Columbarium at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Princeton Child Development Institute, 300 Cold Soil Road, Princeton, NJ 08540.
