Josephine E. Saverine, a life long resident of Darien, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Stamford Hospital. Born September 6, 1917 in Darien, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Frate) D’Arrigo. She was 88. Mrs. Saverine attended Darien Public Schools. She worked as a technician for Phillips and Audio Tape both formerly in Stamford and also worked at the Stamford Tennis Club. She was a parishioner of St. John R.C. Church and a member of the Piedmont Associates both in Darien. She is survived by two sons, Richard Saverine, DDS of Darien and Robert Saverine of Stamford; and one daughter, Linda Saverine Santarella of Darien; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Ida D'Arrigo of Darien, Dolores Kotoski of Stamford and Marie Bankowski of Norwalk. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph R. Saverine, one brother, Joseph D'Arrigo and two sisters, Mae Pelosi and Madeline Bonfiglio. A Mass of Christian Burial as held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, March 18, 2006. Burial followed at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. John R.C.
