Obituary of William F. Vollenweider

William F. Vollenweider, a resident of Stratford, CT and a former longtime resident of Darien, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. Born January 15, 1925 in West Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Carl and Lillian Louth Vollenweider. He was 90 years of age. William graduated from Stamford High School. He was a builder of fine homes in lower Fairfield County for over 50 years and taught his three sons to follow in his footsteps. Bill enjoyed bowling, fishing, dancing, playing pool, throwing darts and sitting in the 4th row at Noroton Presbyterian Church, where he had been a member for over 60 years, listening to his lovely wife sing in the choir. He is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Dolores Skagen Vollenweider; three sons, Bruce and his wife MaryAnn of Norwalk, CT; Eric and his wife Sally and Mark and his wife, Janet Bates all of Bridgeport, CT. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Sharon Winkler, Jesse, Brianna, Hannah, Joseph and William Vollenweider. A Memorial Service will be held at Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made In Memory of William F.
