Obituary of Clarence C. Waymer

Clarence C. Waymer, a long time resident of Stamford, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. Born July 21, 1904 in Orangeburg, SC, he was the son of the late Jeffrey and Ada (Fredericks) Waymer. He was 101. Mr. Waymer worked as a crossing guard for the Stamford Police Department. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by three daughters, Candice Waymer and Cheryl Doherty both of Stamford, CT; Catherine Doyle of Edmonds, WA; and two sons, Charles Waymer of New Milford, CT and Clarence Waymer of Wurzburg, Germany. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one step-brother, Philip Boyd of West Haven, CT. He is predeceased by his wife in 2000, Alice Boyd Waymer and one daughter, Corinthia Waymer. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Thursday, March 23, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence, c/o Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care, 1029 East Main Street, Stamford, CT 06905.
