Obituary of Jim Viteretto

Jim "Bull" Viteretto, a Darien resident since 1954, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Darien. Born on April 16, 1916 in North Mianus (Greenwich), he was the son of the late Peter and Lucia Viteretto. He was 96. Jim attended a trade school in Stamford. He worked at Electrolux from the age of 18 till he was 70 years old as a tool and die man. He was a member and former president of the Electrolux Recreation Committee for 50 years. He was a member of the Piedmont Association, the Knights of Columbus, the Darien Senior Center and the 60 Plus Club. He is survived by his daughter Rita Ritch of Darien and two grandchildren, Kelli Ritch and David Ritch. He was predeceased by his wife Rose DePiro Viteretto, a brother, Peter Viteretto and three sisters, Angie Gravino, Louisa Novak and Lena Barreca. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Will Rogers once said, "I never met a man I didn't like".
