John F. Sharpe, a Norwalk resident the last nine years, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2006 at Norwalk Hospital. Prior to living in Norwalk, he had spent the previous 45 years in New Canaan. He was born September 12, 1925 in Queens, NY. He was the son of the late John Henry and Anna Bohlen Sharpe. He was 80. John served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was a long time photo engraver with Wilbur in Darien. John was known for his great love of painting. He is survived by his wife Lucia S. Sharpe of Norwalk, one daughter Maria Algeri, and one son Anthony Casella both of Darien. Two brothers Jerry Sharpe of MA and Raymond Sharpe of NJ. Two grandchildren Carissa Algeri of Milford and Ryan Algeri of Stamford. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road, Darien on Monday, May 8, 2006 from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John R.C. Church in Noroton on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association 2550 US Highway 1 North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
