Obituary of Linda B. Tiska

Linda B. Tiska of Stamford, CT and Port Charlotte, FL passed away peacefully on June 2, 2015, with her loving family by her side. She was born August 7, 1951, to the late Ann and Cliff Biggs. Linda is survived by her husband, Jim Fahey, and her children Tammy (Erich) Herbert of Milford, NH, Matthew (Christina) Tiska of Monroe, CT and Erin (Gregg) Tiska-Kirkman of Norwalk, CT. She leaves behind her three younger brothers, Christopher, Timothy and William Biggs, along with seven grandchildren, William, Brendan, Isabelle, Jack, Nicholas, Zachary and Samantha. She also leaves behind Anita B. Tiska, Gabe Tiska, Kristen (Marc) Goldman and Sean Fahey along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Linda is predeceased by Chester Buttery, Bill Buttery, Willie Tiska and Debbie Tiska.
Linda was a long time resident of Old Greenwich, CT, and was a graduate of Greenwich High School (Class of 1969). She went on to work for several individuals as a personal assistant and bookkeeper, but found her calling as an administrative assistant at both First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich and St. John's Lutheran Church in Stamford.
Linda was very active in the church community as a member of the St. John's Lutheran church choir, WELCA committee and outreach giving committee. She also involved in the Stamford Chorale and Angel Choir of Greenwich.
Traveling to many parts of the world was something she loved to do, including singing for the Pope at the Vatican. Linda also loved the beach, swimming, her cats and dining out, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She touched the lives of everyone around her and will be terribly missed. Friends and family may call Sunday, June 7, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT. A service celebrating Linda's life will be Monday, June 8 at 11: 00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. John's Lutheran Church - Festival Music Fund, 884 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905.
