Raya Weber Greene, a resident of Darien for the past six years and a former resident of Petoskey, MI and Flossmoor, IL where she raised her family, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Waveny Care Center in New Canaan, CT. Born November 17, 1916 and raised in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, she was the daughter of the late William Ernst Frederick Weber and Minnie Lamb Weber. She was 89. Mrs. Greene graduated from Sault Sainte Marie High School; National Park College in Forest Glen, MD; and Katherine Gibbs in Boston, MA. She was a member of Flossmoor Service League, Northern Michigan Hospital Auxiliary and Petoskey Garden Club. She is survived by two daughters, Leslie Greene Novinger and her husband, Richard of Aurora, IL; and Barbara Greene Dickson and her husband, Duane of Darien, CT; three grandchildren, Robert, Alex and Claire Dickson all of Darien, CT. She is predeceased by her husband Herbert Alexander Greene; one brother, William Weber and two sisters, Orma Steinbach and Erie Roberts. A Memorial Service will be held Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
