Ethel Behre Boyd, a resident of Brookfield, CT passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Born March 28, 1920 in New Canaan, CT, she was the daughter of the late Gerhard F. and Ethel (Lawrence) Behre. She was 86.

Mrs. Boyd was a former long resident of New Canaan, CT from 1920 to 1941 and then from 1982 to early 2006. She was also a former resident of Miami, FL from 1941 to 1982. She graduated from Stoneleigh College in Rye, NH.

Ethel had a great love for needlework, rug hooking, visiting the beach, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren

She is survived by her children, Margo Boyd of Brookfield, CT; Jeffrey P. Boyd of Newfane, VT; Bruce B. Boyd of Bean Station, TN; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Adrian in 1966 and one brother J. Edward Behre in 1981

Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, July 7, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 12:00 PM with the Rev. Patricia Long from The Congregational Church in New Canaan. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan.
