Obituary of Ruth Voorhees Warm

Ruth Voorhees Warm a longtime Darien resident passed away on August 14, 2015 at Stamford Hospital. She was born to the late Clarence Merwin Voorhees and Helen Griswald Albrecht in Stamford on August 26, 1928. She was 86 years of age. Ruth graduated from Darien High school in 1946. She then worked at Best & Company and also Stolers in Noroton Heights. In addition to her work, she was a homemaker and member of St Luke's Parish, Darien Senior Center and the 60 Plus Club all in Darien. She was also a member of Eastern Star. Ruth took pride in being a great cook, going on summer vacations in Wildwood, NJ and that she was a Breast Cancer survivor. Ruth is survived by her two sons, Kenneth A. of Darien and Russell W. (Victoria) also of Darien. She is also survived by one brother John Voorhees of Houston TX, one granddaughter Jennifer Jane Warm of Darien, two nieces, Marsha and Carol and their children. She was pre-deceased by her husband Russell in 1993. Calling hours will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Friday August 21, 2015 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. A Graveside Service will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford at 2:00 PM.
