Anna Pucher Podkowsky, of Norwalk, CT, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2006. She was 96 years old. Anna was born on November 2, 1909 in Shamokin, PA. She was the daughter of Nicholaus and Rose Kapitula Pucher and the oldest of seven children. The family moved to New York City in the 1920’s. In 1944, Anna was married to John C. Podkowsky and the couple lived in Woodside, Queens for fifty years before moving to Shelton, CT. Anna was a long time member of Local 51 of the Graphic Communications Union. She also was very active in her local parish, St. Sebastian’s in Woodside. She was pre-deceased by John Podkowsky, her husband of 54 years, and is survived by her son, John W. Podkowsky and his wife, Patricia of Darien, CT; and two grandsons, Neil of San Francisco, CA and Douglas, currently of Block Island, RI. Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 9:00 AM at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien.
