MARIA C. HUGHES -- 64, died last night after battling many serious illnesses. She married her best friend Bill on July 22, 1961 and just recently celebrated 45 wonderful years together. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories to her loving and devoted husband Bill and their four children, nine grandchildren and dozens of relatives. Her children and grandchildren are: William T. Jr. and Ana Hughes of Norwalk; Kathleen and John Alvord of Canandaigua, NY and their children Jake, Abbie and Charlotte; Patricia and Richard Ochsendorf of Monroe, CT and their children Richie and Rebecca; and Thomas and Emily Hughes of Darien and their children Madison, Britney, Brendan and Russel. She precedes her mother, Angela Yozzo, who is currently living in Connecticut and her brother, Frank Yozzo of Long Island, New York. Her family was her entire life and she lived to bring joy and happiness to everyone she touched. Marie was a well-known and very loved tap dance teacher at the Darien dance studio for many years. Her students became her best friends. Her family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support they have received during these difficult times. Calling hours are Friday, August 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday, August 5th from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Lawrence Funeral Home on the Post Road in Darien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, August 5th at 11:30 am. Private family interment will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Darien Lions Club, P. O.
