Obituary of Jean Main Valenti

Jean M. Valenti, a long time Darien resident died on Friday, November 16, 2012 at her home in Taneytown, MD. Mrs. Valenti was born in Norwalk on June 10, 1922, daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth Main and was a graduate of Norwalk High School class of 1939. Mrs. Valenti, with her late husband Frank, was a local business owner for over thirty years. Mrs. Valenti was a member of the Darien Women's Guild and later was Eucharistic Minister at her church in Tryon, N.C., and she was also a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital in Tyron. She enjoyed dancing with her husband and members of the local Piedmont Association. Mrs. Valenti was married to her husband Frank on August 25, 1947. She is survived by her four sons: Frank Jr. of Taneytown, MD; Terry and Mark, both of Knoxville, TN; and Brian of Bethesda, MD; and six grandchildren; Tiffany J. Lane, Anthony E. Valenti, John M. Valenti, Susana T. Valenti, Thomas C. Valenti and Emma C. Valenti. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery on Richards Avenue in Norwalk, CT.
