Obituary of Dorothy B. Harper

Dorothy B. Harper, a longtime resident of Darien, CT, died peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at home after a long illness. She was born on November 24, 1918 in Stamford to the late John J. and Susan Yanik Bartoes of Darien. She was 94.
Dorothy graduated from Darien High School, class of 1936. She was a retired secretary for the Town of Darien.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Toth of Stamford and a granddaughter, Sara Sancomb of Peabody, MA. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Harper and cousins, Suzanne Bell Laubrich of Albany, GA and William C. Bell of Darien.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Darien Senior Activities Center, 30 Edgerton Street, Darien, CT 06820 or Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 535 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 101, Norwalk, CT 06854.
