Obituary of Mary K. Scribner

Mary K. Scribner, a 60 year resident of Darien, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Norwalk Hospital. Born November 17, 1930 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Mary B. Kelly. She was 82.
Mary worked as an executive secretary for both Drury, Pearson, Ward and Pringle Law Firm in Stamford and Norwalk Hospital. She was past president of Noroton Heights Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Hollow Tree Elementary School P.T.A. and a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas More R.C. Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Scribner of Darien and her children, Charles F. Scribner, Jr. and his wife Norma of Seymour, CT; Jean S. Allen and her husband Timothy of Clinton, NJ; James C. Scribner and his wife Jennifer of Taghkanic, NY; and Lt. Col. Donald A. Scribner, U.S.M.C., Ret. and his wife Corey of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Craig Allen, Christopher Allen and Chad Allen of Clinton, NJ and Samantha Scribner of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are three sisters, Catherine Wright of Delaware; Anna Kelly of Stamford; Margaret Vitka of Greenwich and brother Joseph Kelly of Darien and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien, CT on Monday, December 31, 2012 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. Interment will be private.
