Marie Osier Wood, a resident of Darien since 1962, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2006 at Courtland Gardens in Stamford. Born November 24, 1908 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helena (Lord) Osier. She was 98.

Mrs. Wood worked as a copy writer for WCBS TV and WSTC Radio. She was a parishioner of St. John R.C. Church in Darien and active in several local theater groups. She had a great love for all animals and her Volkswagon.

She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Soos of Darien and two nieces and two nephews. She is predeceased by her husband James P. Wood in 1995 and one brother, Joseph Osier.

Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at a later date in Canada.
