Obituary of Todd A. Burger

Todd A. Burger, a life long resident of Darien, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Stamford Hospital. Born May 3, 1957 in Stamford, he was the son of the Ruth W. Burger of Darien and the late Raymond J. Burger, Sr. who passed away in 1974. He was 49. Todd graduated from Darien High School in 1975 and attended Drake University in Des Moines, IA from 1975 to 1979. He was a writer for the Darien News-Review, the Norwalk Hour and was the sports editor for the Fairfield Citizen News from 1992 to 2006. Todd loved to write. He also loved sports. He played on the Lawrence Funeral Home Senior Babe Ruth team. He also played softball and flag football. He was loved by many and will be missed by many. Besides his mother, he is survived by one sister Barbara Sauerhoff and her husband, John E. Sauerhoff, III of New Canaan and one brother, Raymond J. Burger, Jr. of Darien. He is also survived by one nephew, Jes Sauerhoff of New Canaan and one aunt, Margaret Winters of Stamford. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, December 22, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
