Carmella "Millie" Rongoe, a longtime resident of Stamford, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at St. Camillus Nursing Home in Stamford. Born and raised in Stamford on April 4, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Margaret LiVolsi Tamburri. She was 95. Millie graduated from Stamford High School. She worked several secretarial jobs in New York City including American Express. Millie and her husband, James, owned a secretarial service in Greenwich. She loved to sew, garden, listen to music, cook for her family, and go shopping. She was a member of the Blue Moon Club in Stamford. She is survived by her son, Richard C. Rongoe and his wife Vivian of Wilmington, NC; one sister, Martha Salvatore of Stamford; four grandchildren, Christine Osborn and her husband Bradley; Catherine Rongoe; Nicholas Rongoe and his wife Toni-Ann and Mark A. Rongoe; and two great granddaughters. She was predeceased by her husband, James J. Rongoe, Sr. and a son, James J. Rongoe, Jr. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien, CT on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien. Burial will take place in Oleander Memorial Gardens in Wilmington, NC.
