Joan D. Hill, age 73, a life long Darien resident, passed away on February 17, 2007 at Richard Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. She was born March 5, 1933 in Norwalk to the late Kenneth & Evelyn (Greene) Bennett. She was a graduate of Darien High School. Joan worked with her late husband Donald B. Hill, as the assistant animal control officer for 25 years for the town of Darien. She was a former member of the Noroton Heights Fire Department Woman’s Auxiliary, and also had served on the Darien Parks & Recreation Commission. Joan is survived by 1 son, Bruce Hill, and his wife Janelle of Darien, one daughter in law Beth Hill of Darien, 1 brother David Bennett of Franklin, TN, 1 sister Nancy Dibble of Kennebunk, Maine, 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by 1 son Ken Hill. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road Darien on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 from 5 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held from the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at 4:00 PM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
