Obituary of Robert James McIntyre

Robert James McIntyre, died on April 18, 2013. He was 64. Born on August 20, 1948, he was the son of the late Laura and Charles McIntyre of Nyack, NY. Mac was a Co-Owner of Westport Funding, in Westport CT. He received a BS degree and Masters of Business from the Rochester Institute of Technology. A loving husband, father of four, and brother, Captain Mac most cherished the time spent with family and friends. He was an avid sailor and fisherman who enjoyed every moment out on the water. Music was a huge passion of his, and he enjoyed attending the Metropolitan Opera with close friends. He spent quality time in his wood-working shop in the basement of his home, where you could hear soaring opera arias and his laughter over his latest project for one of his friends. He was an accomplished singer and enjoyed singing with the Greenwich Choral Society. He also enjoyed attending performances by the Chorus of Westerly. Captain Mac will be remembered for his humor, intellect, and his everlasting generosity to everyone he met. Mac is survived by his wife Sue, and their four children, Elizabeth, Emily, Edward and the late James. He is also survived by his sister, Sue Richards of Virginia and Dick McIntyre of Florida. A Memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Parish, 1864 Post Road, Darien, on Saturday, April 20 at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chorus of Westerly or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
