Kenneth A. O'Connell, 61, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 19, 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 14, 1952 to the late Patricia Grady Mullin & Bernard O'Connell. Kenneth lived in Brooklyn, NY most of his life. At 17, Kenneth began his long successful career in finance by working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for Merrill Lynch. As his career on Wall Street advanced he made his way into the commodities business and traded sugar for several different firms in Greenwich, CT and Manhattan, NY ending in 2009 as a Vice President at Newedge Group. He is survived by his loving daughter, Christine Sargeant, and her husband Matthew, of Fairfield, CT, his son Kenneth Fiveson, and his wife Susan of Darien, CT, his 5 beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth, Caroline, Andrew, Clara, and Anabelle. Also his brothers, Keith Fiveson of Manhattan, NY, Kevin Contrera of Bridgeport, CT, and sister Stephanie Brennan of Margaretville, NY. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 21st from 11:30 to 2:00pm at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien.
