Obituary of Helen Alice Brencher

Helen Alice Brencher, a resident of Unionville, CT and a former long time resident of Darien, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Avon Health Care Center in Avon, CT. Born in 1915 in Darien, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Alice (Eagan) Finch. She was 91. Helen graduated from Darien High School. She worked for F.C.I. Corp. (formerly Burndy Corp) formerly in Norwalk, CT. She was a member of the Darien Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital and a long time parishioner of St. John R.C. Church. She is survived by her son, Philip E. Brencher, Jr. of Unionville, CT and one grandson, William Brencher of North Haven, CT. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Joan Mosher of Cheshire, CT and by two nephews, Dave Brencher of Bethlehem, CT and Thomas Redway of Norwalk and three nieces, Margaret Redway of Norwalk; Paula Jensen of Greenwich, CT and Frances Anderson of South Norwalk. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Brencher; a son, Roddy Brencher; two brothers, Willis and George Finch and two sisters, Lottie Frate and Frances Redway. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, March 23, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
