Obituary of Eileen Mary Walsh

Eileen M. Walsh, a 50 year resident of Stamford and a former resident of Manhattan, NY and Chicago, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2007 at the William & Sally Tandet Center in Stamford. Born in 1915 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Gertrude (Jacobs) Grimm. She was 91. Eileen attended the Church of St. Cecilia and St. Gabriel R.C. Church both in Stamford. She was a member of the Stamford Woman’s Club, St. Joseph’s Auxiliary, the National Hemophilia Foundation, AARP and St. Camillius Nursing Home Auxiliary. Eileen is survived one son, Thomas J. Walsh and his wife Alison Giachetti of Lafayette, CO; two daughters, Susan M. Walsh of Santa Monica, CA and Kathleen J. Meehan and her husband, Thomas J. of Stratford, CT. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kerri A. Fortune and Matthew D. Fortune, both of Stamford. She was predeceased by her husband David William Walsh and by one son, Richard K. Walsh. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Monday, April 2, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 10 Wall Street, Apt. 211, Norwalk, CT 06850 or to the National Hemophilia Foundation, 116 West 32nd Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
