Obituary of Rose M. Nowinski

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Resident of Darien, CT and formerly Spring Hill, FL went home to Jesus and her loving husband Clement on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the age of 86. Rose was the daughter of the late Antonio Nardini and Josephine Petti. Rose was born in Bayonne, NJ and graduated from Bayonne High School. She began her lifelong career with Western Electric (now Lucent Technologies) as a wire woman in Kearny, NJ. She was instrumental in wiring bay units that sent telecommunication signals to service men and women during WWII in the Pacific. From there, she was transferred to Jersey City to work on video units which was the beginning of television. In her final years with Western Electric she worked in the Clark, NJ facility, where she wired units for submarine cable that were dropped into the Atlantic Ocean to support our telecommunication with England. Rose had an unforgettable personality. Her quick wit and candor kept her young at heart and “the young” at ease. She was a devoted wife to Clem and an unconditionally loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend. Rose is survived by her daughter Karen Ann La Bella and husband Gary of Darien; Michele Gioia and husband Philip of Darien; three granddaughters Victoria Rose Latawiec, Kathryn and Kristen Gioia; dear sister Lucy Dominach of Sayreville, NJ; and generations of nieces and nephews whom she adored. A Roman Catholic mass will be celebrated at St. John’s Parish, Post Road, Darien, CT on Monday, April 9 at 3:30pm. Funeral Home: Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road Darien, CT USA 06820
