To the Ross family, I have had the honor of working with and more importantly the priveledge of getting to know Dick over the past 4 years at Jefferies. He was a kind hearted and good friend. He had a great sense of humor that was highlighted by his famous " one liners ".I looked foward to our many meetings together which always began with concerned questions about my family and especially my kids. He really cared about people and made me feel appreciated. Not often in business or in life do you meet someone as unique as Dick. I consider myself lucky to have had him as a colleague and more importantly to call him my friend. My family and I would like to extend our deepest condolences

I am sending the Ross family my condolences. Dick was such a great person, his passing was a shock to us all. He made my transition to Jefferies easy and painless. His "open door" policy be it for work, personal reasons or just to shoot the breeze made him truly a great person to work for and a valued friend. He always had sound advice and a way to make you smile. I looked up to Dick as if he had..."hung the moon". He will be missed.

A loss that transcends what the heart and mind can speak. In two meetings and a few phone calls, it did not take long to realize that I made a friend. A gem of a man. May he find comfort in his eternal rest; may you, the family, find strength in his comfort. Know you are not alone. God Bless you.

I am new to Jefferies and had the opportunity to work for Dick for a short period of time. Although only for a short period of time I got the impression that I think everyone had of him, he was a humerous, intelligent, and personable guy. I loved to help Dick with his work and home computing needs. I offer my deepest condolences to the Ross family and friends.
