Obituary of Audrey B. Bell

Audrey B. Bell died on Monday, June 24, 2013 at her home in Darien. Born in Montreal December 24, 1929, the daughter of Edward and Lillian Jay, she married W. James Bell in 1953.
Audrey studied science at Marionapolis College and became an RN after graduating from St. Mary's. She served at numerous hospitals including The New England Baptist, was a stewardess with Air Canada, and later was the Medical Director of the Head Start program in Cleveland. For her many close friends, she was the first call for medical advice.
She lived and was active in Montreal, Boston, Toronto, Brantford, Milwaukee, Shaker Heights, Darien and wintered in Naples. Arts and music were a lifetime interest and she chaired the annual Glenhyrst Art Show. Audrey was a highly regarded Duplicate Bridge player and was a Bronze Life Master. She travelled extensively, worldwide, for pleasure and for business in support of her husband, including to 22 countries in Asia, Africa and the Near East with International Executive Service Corp. Audrey was a long-time member of the Junior League, Wee Burn, Royal Poinciana, the Naples Council on World Affairs and the Harvard Clubs of New York City and of Boston.
Audrey was 83 and was predeceased by her brother Marvin, and is survived by her sister Dorothy, her brother David, her husband of 60 years, her four children, Robin, Susan, Jane and John, eight grandchildren, Aaron, Anne, Alex, Adam, Kristen, Andrew, Matthew and Gabriella, and her great granddaughter, Maggie.
There will be a private celebration of Audrey's very special life.
