David A. Czako, a life long resident of the Springdale/Darien area, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2007 surrounded by his loving family at Stamford Hospital. Born in 1930 in Springdale, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lila (Biro) Czako. He was 76. David graduated from Stamford High School in 1949. He served on the U.S.S. Kimberly and the U.S.S. Stormes with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a long time local self-employed builder. He had a great love of gardening and flying. As a young man, he flew with the civil air patrol. He was a long time member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Springdale. He was the loving husband of Beatrice Jordan Czako of Darien; and was a devoted father of David A. Czako, Jr. of Anchorage, AK; Patricia L. Kristiansen and her husband David W. of Waldoboro, ME; Carolyn M. Nardozza and her husband Jack of Tyrone, GA and Jacquelyn N. Czako and her fiancée, Andreas Kulik of Tyrone, GA. He was a beloved grandfather to Joshua D. Kristiansen and his wife, Eve of Chestnut Hill, MA; Justin P. Kristiansen of Portland, ME; and Nicholas J. Nardozza of Tyrone, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Military Service will be held at the Mausoleum at St. John Cemetery, Darien on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
