Obituary of Ellen Lynn Hershey

Ellen Lynn Hershey, born March 30, 1960, died at her home in Elmsford, NY on August 2, 2013. Ellen was an extraordinarily loving and generous person to her family and friends. Ellen was a lifelong New Yorker who was born and raised in Bronx, New York, attended the College of New Rochelle and spent over 20 years as a highly dedicated and beloved professional at the Greenburgh Public Library. She was a passionate lover of animals, a wonderful story-teller and an exceptional Aunt to her nieces Samantha and Carly Berizzi of Stamford, Connecticut. Ellen was pre-deceased by her husband Mark Hershey. Ellen is survived by her parents Isveno and Joan Maccarni of Stamford, Connecticut, her sister Donna and brother-in-law, Stan Berizzi of Stamford, Connecticut and brother, Robert Maccarni of Austin, Texas, her beloved dog and constant companion, Sophie and her cat Jake. In recent years she shared her home with her caring friend John Cristello. . The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, Connecticut on Tuesday, August 6, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additionally there will be a memorial service, also at Lawrence Funeral, home on Wednesday, August 7th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ellen's name to the Greenburgh Public Library Foundation, Children's Room, 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford, New York 10523.
