Obituary of Gertrude Trudy Montlick

Gertrude Trudy Montlick, a life long resident of Darien/Rowayton area passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 peacefully in her home. Born in 1938 in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of the late John Austin and Ester Whitney Austin. She was 69. Gertrude graduated from Darien High School in 1956 and was a devoted mother and housewife to her husband Robert and six daughters for many years. She was also a long time member of the First Congregational Church in Darien, CT. In addition, Gertrude was a former Girl Scout leader and a member of the Darien Fire Department Woman’s Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband Robert L. Montlick, her daughters Deborah Calladio of Norwalk, CT, Judy Montlick of Monroe, CT, Sandra Saia of Clifton Park, NY, Lisa Rogers of Bethel, CT, Jennifer Sinapi of Newtown, CT, Janet Small of Litchfield, CT and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Christopher Austin of Breford, GA. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Sunday, June 24, 2007 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church in Darien, CT. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
