Patricia Sharpe Watkins a resident of Darien for 29 years and Kewadin MI, passed away Thursday June 14 in Stamford CT. She was born May 8, 1949 in Detroit MI to the late James A. Sharpe and Frances J. Medved (Sharpe). Patricia received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount College in Tarrytown NY, and her Master’s degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University in New York City, NY. Patricia’s professional career revolved around the field of education: Patricia was the Assistant Director of Admissions at Marymount College, the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at SUNY in Farmingdale NY and also the Director of Financial Aid for the Duchess Community College in Poughkeepsie NY. Patricia dedicated her life to her family: she is survived by her husband John Randolph “Randy” Watkins of Darien, a daughter Patricia Watkins Hughes and her husband Bryan William Hughes of Brighton MI, and a son John Randolph Watkins Jr. of Darien CT. Patricia is also survived by her brother Gary James Sharpe of Waterford, MI as well as three Nieces, two Nephews and three great Nephews. Patricia was a member of the Wee Burn Country Club in Darien with her husband. A Memorial Mass will take place on Wednesday June 20 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road in Darien CT, Interment will be private. The Lawrence Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
