Helen Margaret Rowan, a resident of Darien passed away on October 1, 2010 at home. Born on August 16, 1921 in Philadelphia PA, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Quigley Morris. She was 89. Helen was a long time parishioner and choir member of ST John RC Church. She was a devoted wife and mother to her husband and seven children. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who filled her home with love and laughter. Her optimistic spirit and gentle nature brought joy to her family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Chris Rowan of Sudbury, MA, Dennis Rowan of Fairfield CT, Tim Rowan of Milford CT, four daughters, Eileen Cohen of Milford, CT, Mary Rowan of Stamford CT, Helen Rowan of Stratford, CT and Kathleen Burriesci of Milford CT. She is also survived by four grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband William Rowan. Calling hours will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien, CT 06820 on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 10:00AM at ST John RC Church, 1986 Post Rd, Darien, CT 06820. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
