Obituary of Gladys M. Stevens

Gladys M. Stevens, a lifetime resident of Darien, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Greenwich Woods Health Care Center in Greenwich. Born on May 21, 1916 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Catherine Cleary and Arthur D. Stevens. She was 94. Gladys worked for Machlette Laboratories in Springdale, CT for 25 years and retired in 1962. She lived her entire life in Darien. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Senior Center and 60 Plus Club both in Darien. She loved dogs and nature. She is survived by a brother-in-law, H. Neil Terfenko of Stamford, her niece, Marie Biase Servidio and her husband, Richard Servidio, of Northport, Florida, a niece Sheila Servidio of Bethel, a niece Sharon Servidio of Northport, Florida, nephew Richard Servidio of Danbury, nephew Ronald Servidio of Nashville, Tennessee, and nephew Robert Servidio of Northport, Florida, and Margaret Biase of Norwalk. There are 7 great nieces and nephews surviving. She was predeceased by two sisters, Emily Stevens Biase and Madeline Terfenko. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Darien on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
