Obituary of Dorothy Lentz Vogt

Dorothy Lentz Vogt of Stamford, Connecticut passed away at her home in Springdale on October 13, 2016. She was born on October 25, 1930 to Adolph and Dorothy Lentz.
Dorothy was a life-long Stamford resident. She attended Stark School and Stamford High School, Class of 1949. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband, Hugo Strohfeld Vogt in 2002. Dorothy and her husband were the former owners of Hugo's Deli in Springdale. Dorothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbrook and later was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church on Seaside Avenue. In her younger days, she was a member of the Walther League, and in both congregations, she belonged to the ladies organization. She was also a member of the Emblem Club in Springdale and enjoyed their charitable work. For many years, Dorothy enjoyed her employment at Sears. With her husband, family and friends, she enjoyed family camping, bowling and some traveling. Dorothy kept busy with needle work and occasional craft projects.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons Carl and Stephen, her daughter-in-law Caren and two granddaughters, Katie and Naomi. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, two nieces, a nephew and their families. She was pre-deceased by her son Ronald. Carl and Stephen are grateful to her many friends and family who sent cards and flowers and visited at her home. Also thank you to a handful of women who were her faithful companions the last few years.
A calling hour will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St Peters Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave. Norwalk, CT on Tuesday October 18, 2016. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutheran World Relief, C/O Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Seaside Ave., Stamford, CT 06902.
