Obituary of Dale V. Tyler

Dale V. Tyler, a resident of Middlebury, CT and a former resident of Darien, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, CT. Born on February 25, 1929 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Ronald and Helen Prindle Tyler. He was 81. Dale graduated from Darien High School, class of 1947. He then attended trade schools. He was a retired long time self employed carpenter who was previously employed by Olsen and Wood Builders in Darien, CT. His grandfather, father, cousins, etc. and Dale built many homes in Fairfield County. He was a long time member of the Connecticut Carpenters Union Local 210. He served four years in the U. S. Navy during the Koran War in the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific aboard ships as a Petty Officer. Dale enjoyed telling stories of his life experiences; he also enjoyed reciting and writing poems. He was a loyal avid N.Y. Yankee fan. His favorite artists were Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Anne Murray. Dale will be dearly missed by family and all who had the pleasure to have known him. He is survived by his seven children, Kathy Belden, Keith Tyler, Karen Page, Carolyn Bridgman, Kevin Tyler, Clifford Tyler and Kenny Tyler; and 10 grandchildren, Tommy Telesco and Billy Telesco; Rusty Bridgman and Danny Bridgman; Laura Belen and Julia Belden; Olivia Page and Kenny Page; Andrea Tyler and Jason Tyler. He is also survived by two brothers, Ronald Tyler of Petaluma, CA and James Tyler of Norwalk, CT. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road, Darien on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery, Hecker Avenue, Darien on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Middlebury Fire Department, 65 Tucker Hill Road, Middlebury, CT 06762 or Middlebury PBA, 200 Southford Road, Middlebury, CT 06762.
