Obituary of Patty Milburn Auchincloss

Patty Milburn Auchincloss, a long-time resident of Riverside, CT, died peacefully at home on Sept. 16 of cancer. She was 67. Ms. Auchincloss was born in New York, NY. Her parents were Edgar S. Auchincloss III and Patty M. Auchincloss. She was raised in Darien, CT and graduated from the Emma Willard School and Wellesley College. She lived in Washington, DC and Pittsburgh, PA before moving to Riverside, CT in 1981. She was involved in several local non-profit organizations and retired as the director for Europe and Eurasia for the International Executive Service Corps. Ms. Auchincloss is survived by two children, Peter S. Tirana, of Stamford, CT and Ellie T. Magnuson, of Brooklyn, NY; their spouses Claudia R. Tirana and Rob K. Magnuson; one grandson, Benjamin D. Tirana; two brothers, Edgar S. Auchincloss IV of Manchester Center, VT and George M. Auchincloss, of Washington, CT; a sister, Ellie Auchincloss, of New Canaan. CT; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Ms. Auchincloss touched many lives with her grace, compassion, wonderful mind, and her gift for connecting us all to each other. She is greatly loved. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, 1101 Bedford Street on Saturday Sept. 29 at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Research and Education Fund of the Bennett Cancer Center, Stamford Hospital, Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06902.
