Obituary of Bruce Jackson Baldwin

Bruce Jackson Baldwin of Darien died Thursday November 11 at Stamford Hospital following a heart attack. He was 71. Along with his wife Ann, Bruce is survived by his daughter April, son David, grandchildren Celina, Anik, Nicole and Parker, step-children Helen, Jim and Vicky and step-grandchildren Kellie and Kaitie. He is also survived by his sister Barbara and family in Georgia. Bruce was born April 1, 1939 in Chicago, IL and was the son of Robert Jackson Baldwin and Marian Macy Jones. He graduated from the University of Michigan with undergraduate and Masters’ degrees. He was an active community volunteer in Worthington, OH, New Canaan and Darien. His love of sports, his natural athletic abilities and dedication to work were matched by his enjoyment of family, friends, travel, music and entertainment, food, laughter and an insatiable appetite for learning. Bruce was a resident of New Canaan from 1976-1987 and Darien from 1987-2010. He retired from IBM in 1996, where he won several sales, marketing and managerial awards and was the President of the Middlesex Commons Condominium Association from 1997-2010. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 4th at 12:30 PM at the Darien United Methodist Church, 345 Middlesex Road, Darien, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, P. O. Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492.
