Obituary of Walter Lee Scott

Walter Lee Scott, a resident of Darien, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Stamford Hospital. Born in 1923 in New York City, he was the son of the late Walter and Anne (Bowman) Scott. He was 85.
Walter served with the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He also served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He received a B.A. degree from Columbia University after World War II. He was a long time member of the First Congregational Church in Darien. He was also a choir boy at the Cathedral of St. John’s the Divine in New York City. He loved to read and was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his four children, Matthew Scott, his wife Sue and their two children of Boston, MA; Marco Scott, his wife Nancy and their three children of Fairfield, CT; Peter Scott, his wife Wendy and their three children of Portland, OR and Joanna Scott, her husband Jim Longenbach and their two children of Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Scott.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Graveside Service will follow at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Middletown, CT at 11:30 AM. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
