Obituary of Remigio Conetta

Remigio Conetta, a 60-year resident of Stamford, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. Born on March 20, 1921 in Settefrati, Italy, he was the son of the late Luigi and Concetta (Vitti) Conetta. He was 92. Remigio worked as a mason and laborer for many years. He also worked for the Darien Public Schools as a custodian for over 20 years. He was a member of the Settefratese Social Club in Stamford. He is survived by his wife, Antonia Colomba Massarella Conetta of Stamford and three sons, Louis and his wife, Maryann, of Orange, CT; Anthony and his wife, Jacqueline; and Joseph and his wife, Emily, all of Darien. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Catalina; David and his wife MaryJo; Michele and her husband, John; Ray; Toni-Ann and her husband Nick; Christina; and Nicholas; as well as nine great grandchildren, Allie, Cammie, Jake, Miranda, Jack, Sarah, Alex, Camilo and Ava. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien.
