Obituary of Gerard T. Yates

Gerard T. Yates, a resident of Stamford, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2007 in Stamford Hospital. Born in 1954 in Stamford, he was the son of Joseph Yates of Montana and the late Kathryn L-Hommedieu Yates. Gerard was raised in Darien where his father was a builder in the Darien/New Canaan area. He was 52. Gerard graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree. He worked as a cameraman for the YES Network. Besides his father, Gerard is survived by his wife, Pamela Viscomi-Yates of Stamford and three step-children, Jenny Rebecca Langer of Brooklyn, NY; Paris A. Mygatt and Ari Mygatt both of Stamford. He is also survived by a sister, Joann Sarner of Pound Ridge, NY; and three brothers, John K. Yates and Jeff Yates both of Bethel, CT and James Yates of Pound Ridge, NY. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2810 Long Ridge Road, Stamford. A reception will follow at St. Francis Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in memory of Gerard T. Yates to the Bennett Cancer Center, c/o Stamford Hospital Foundation, 9 West Broad Street, 9th Floor, Stamford, CT 06902.
