Roberta K. Fogerty, a resident of Norwalk for the last five years, a former Darien resident from 1976 to 1998 and a former Greenwich resident from 1998 to 2005, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital. Born on January 7, 1939 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Eleanor Schultz Kirn. She was 71. Roberta was a life long science teacher at Spence, Saks Middle School, Sacred Heart, Norwalk Community College and Marymount. She was a current employee of Kelly Associates in Darien. She also volunteered at the Darien Public Schools. She was the beloved mother of a daughter, Elizabeth Fogerty of New York City and a son, Robert L.T. Fogerty of North Haven, CT. She was a loving grandmother to Katherine Elizabeth Fogerty. She was predeceased by her former husband, Gerald E. Fogerty. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home following the visitation at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Livestrong, 2201 E.
