Obituary of Michael J. Creed

Michael J. Creed, long time resident of Darien, CT and formerly of New Canaan, CT passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Born in 1926 in Co. Tipperary Ireland, he was the son of William and Catherine (Slattery) Creed. Michael was 84 years old. Michael was a graduate of New Canaan High School and served as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his return from Korea, he enjoyed a successful career as a plumber until he retired in 1996. Michael was an active member of the Knights of Columbus brotherhood and was an usher for many years at St. Thomas More Church in Darien, CT. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Bodick, her husband Brent and children Brooke Lauren Bodick and Ryan Creed Bodick of Darien, CT. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Laura Creed of Darien, his brothers William Creed of New Canaan, CT, Lawrence Creed of Norwalk, CT and his sister Helen Creed of New Canaan, CT. Michael was also the loving uncle to dozens of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road Darien, CT on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More R. C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.
